Everyone talks about it but few people really understand it. Most of us are never completely fulfilled and many are stuck in a world of misery. We continually strive for love within our family, with friends and intimate partners like it is the elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with the notion that ‘one day I’ll have it’.
What Does Love Really Mean?
For many people, “love means acceptance”. Do you believe that if you behave a certain way, or adopt a particular way of thinking, you will be loved more and therefore accepted? Or, do you find yourself pleasing others in hopes of being loved?
"If you don't do this, I won't love you anymore". Have you ever said or thought or someone told you, “I will love you more if you do as I want”? Love is not a reward for a bribe or not to be used for emotional blackmail. It is serious stuff!
Real Love Is Unconditional
This means, you must love someone exactly as they are, not trying to make another person be, do or say something you are more comfortable with. Real love means you have 100% acceptance of others.
The Lark and The Chickadee
The Lark and The Chickadee were discussing love. Is love getting or giving?
Lark: “I think it is in the giving. When I sing, the lovers are drawn together, and I feel love when I give them this little treat. I believe it is in the giving and that is all that really matters”.
Chickadee: “that is because you are focusing only on yourself. What of the lovers? They are not only giving, they are getting as well. They are being together, touching, giving and getting, exchanging. Obviously, love is best when it is an even trade, when each gives and gets an equal amount. This is the essence of love”.
The Heart of Love
But neither of them truly knew, because neither the lark nor the chickadee goes to the heart of love, knows the heart of love. No. This belongs to the dove.
It is the dove who knows that love lies neither in the giving nor in the getting. The dove knows that love is simply what overflows out of the heart that is full of peace.
The heart that is full of peace begins to glow and overflow. And the heart full of peace cannot help but do this, for this is the essence of inner peace, to overflow and become more than you were.
And of course, in this overflow, there is a giving, since others can share in the peace. And of course in this peace there is a getting, because you are getting the heart of the world, when you get internal peace.
The True Essence of Love
But the true essence of love, you see, is love for yourself, love focused within. Loving yourself so deeply, so quietly and peacefully, that the love for yourself becomes love for the world and everyone else in it. (Message from Quado, Channelled through Karrie Hart)
It Starts With You
Why should loving yourself be good? It is because your deep, inner self is that part of you connected with the flow of the Universe and with everything else in the flow. That includes everyone and everything.
Loving yourself, you automatically love everyone else, everyone else in the world.
If you expect to be loved by others, you must first love yourself.
Loving yourself frees you from emotional limitations and allows others to be themselves. You stop judging and condemning, you stop criticizing and manipulating.
Love nurtures wisdom and fosters truth. True love only exists in an honest heart, free from fear and doubt. And, in becoming honest with yourself, you find the true happiness you are looking for.
Fear of love and intimacy destroys a relationship before it even begins. Recognizing your inner fears is the first step towards loving yourself. Are you afraid of allowing another person to get close to you? Then find out who you really are, insecurities and all because in being honest with yourself, you would see all the wonderful things about us that make you unique and attractive to others.
Knowing and loving your uniqueness attracts other people to you. Living a lie or an illusion only serves to further illusions and deception, destroying everything you have created.
“Love is the fabric of all creation.” Message given to me from an angel in my near-death experience.
Love is a pure state of being; it is ever present, growing and evolving through unconditionally loving ourselves. When we wholly love ourselves, then we can share that love with another. The Proverb “Love Begets Love” means that if you behave lovingly to other people, they will behave lovingly to you. Being more loving, feeling love within, sends love out.
Many Flavors of Love
In spite of the many flavors of love, once love has touched you, you change forever. The very essence of love remains constant but how we experience it constantly changes, evolves and shifts, never staying the same. It is only when your heart is filled with love, can you reach out and embrace the many other flavors of it.
The Heart Knows What It Wants
As 2012 gains momentum, the parts of our heart that have been closed down are being nudged to awaken. Our hearts want healing. Some people are feeling physical pain as the heart struggles to clear heartbreak. Releasing fear and emotional debris is necessary as we move forward in time.
Love Is The Key
Love is the most important thing in life; without it, we make our life harsh and cruel, empty and meaningless. Love opens the lock on all of our desires personally and collectively. Loving your good, bad and the ugly is a step in KNOWING who you really are. You are Love.
And, KNOWING LOVE is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow waiting for you to claim it as our own.
